Snowberry’s Cleansing Duo

October 27, 2017 Leave a Comment

I’ve been on a quest for really great cleansers lately. As I wear a bit of makeup and a lot of sunblock, I need a cleanser that is capable of a really clean sweep. I also need a morning cleanser that freshens and hydrates the skin without stripping it with harsh emulsifiers, exfoliating it with acids, or upsetting its pH balance. These boxes have been surprisingly hard to tick.

I was recently sent Snowberry’s two cleansers to trial; Instant Deep Clean and Cleanse and Tone. I can truly say I have been thrilled with both.

Let’s start with Snowberry Instant Deep Clean. It’s a brilliant orange shade, due to the powerful tomato extract antioxidant, Lycopene, but there’s much more to it than that. It also contains nourishing Wheat germ extracts blended with oils of Neem, Echium, Inca Inchi, Macadamia, Cloudberry and Passion Flower – all incorporated for their cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties. I use two pumps of this on my fingertips, warm them together and then press gently all over my face to distribute. I then treat myself to a lovely facial massage to dissolve makeup, dirt and pollution and get my skin really clean. I massage again with my damp fingertips and then finally remove with a hot muslin cloth. A truly divine treatment that leaves my skin feeling wonderfully clean and soft.

At 50mls for $51, it’s not your cheap olive oil cleansing method, but it certainly is decadent.

Snowberry Gentle Cleanse and Tone is a really unique product – a natural plant-extract cleanser that also tones the skin.  It’s a creamy gel texture and has a truly delightful scent that reminds me a little of marzipan. I spread a pea sized drop across dampened skin and then leave it on while I brush my teeth. Another way I use it is to spread it on my skin before jumping in the shower as I feel this allows my skin to get more toning benefits and it feels pampering. Most foaming cleansers contain harsh alcohols and surfectants that aren’t doing your skin any favours, however Snowberrry Gentle Cleanse and Tone is a blend of natural plant saponins that gently cleanse the skin of dirt, oil and pollution without the risk of damaging the epidermal barrier or causing chronic low level inflammation. It’s ideal for all skin types and suits men too. In fact, I’ve got my partner hooked on it. He uses Snowberry everything. This cleanser really is beautiful and ideal for a morning cleanse or to follow up with a second cleanse after makeup removal. It will last for months of daily use so at $56 for 100ml I think it’s a truly fantastic buy. This one’s a keeper.

While I am blessed (and admittedly rather spoiled!) to receive many beauty products for review purposes, I will always disclose IF a company has paid for sponsored content. I choose to feature products that I am genuinely excited about and think that you will enjoy. Because I’m a girlie girl and I could talk about this stuff for hours.
