Loving: Environ Intensive Colostrum Gel

October 11, 2017 Leave a Comment

Environ Colostrum Gel is a fantastic soother for stressed skin

It’s been a rough winter and my skin has taken a bit of a dive. After a month of the flu I have finally recovered, but I still look tired, sickly pale (not Dita pale) and super dehydrated. At the same time, I’ve had congestion and breakouts, so things have not been pretty.

The timing to be sent some Environ Intensive Colostrum Gel to trial couldn’t have been better. The colostrum gel contains a combination of immune boosters and growth factors, vitamins and minerals to help energise mature or sun damaged skin from the inside out, which sounds just what I need.

What’s lovely about this creamy serum is that it feels instantly soothing and hydrating. To use it I mist on a soothing skin hydration spray and then apply one pump of this. I chose to use it at night for an extra boost to my usual evening skin care routine. The star ingredient, colostrum is a quirky one, but certainly interesting. Vegetarians and vegans, this is not for you as colostrum is collected from cows udders just after they’ve given birth. However, research indicates that colostrum has a number of interesting health and skin care benefits including minimising infections during times of weakened immune response, promoting the production of healthy collagen and elastin, as well as growth factors, which help to thicken and tighten the skin. That adds up to reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving dry skin and a dull skin tone, especially if they are the a result of hormonal deficiencies.

Environ Colostrum Gel also contains Lavender Oil for its soothing effect along with a phyto (plant) extract from “Cimicifuga Racemosa” a plant used in Chinese medicine due to its abundance of flavonoids, tannins, glycosides and other anti-ageing molecules. Cimicifuga Racemosa addresses the visible signs of hormonal ageing by supplying a phyto-oestrogen that interacts with cellular oestrogen receptors. As I’m approaching 40 and my skin has been very hormonal since giving birth I suspect this is just the ticket for someone of my age and stage of life.

Another bonus? Environ Colostrum Gel also teams well with our other favourite cell communicating ingredients such as Retinyl Palmitate and Acetate (Vitamin A), as well as peptides such as Matrixyl, so you can still use your more potent serums, just apply this sparingly and give it ten minutes to absorb into the skin first.

While I am blessed (and admittedly rather spoiled!) to receive many beauty products for review purposes, I will always disclose IF a company has paid for sponsored content. I choose to feature products that I am genuinely excited about and think that you will enjoy. Because I’m a girlie girl and I could talk about this stuff for hours.
