I’ve been struggling a bit with my lashes and mascara lately. Sadly twin preggie hormones made my lashes fall out (eek!) and unfortunately I can’t fix the problem with a few weeks of lash growth serum because just maybe it contains something that harms my babies. So my poor lashes look the worst they ever have. I’m not one to give up on glamour, or at least faking it until I make it, so I was thrilled when MAC released their new InstaCurl Lash mascara. Not only does MAC make bloody fantastic mascaras, but if I couldn’t have length and thickness, I might as well have curl right!?
Now we can trust MAC to deliver some impressive cosmetic formulations, but with their InstaCurl Lash mascara they have really shone by reinventing the mascara wand itself. It features what appears to be an ordinary straight mascara brush that transforms into a curved wand with a quick twist of the cap. Now ain’t that clever?
I am too lazy to curl my lashes and with few of them still standing I figure I have to be careful with what I’ve got left, so I would rather avoid the forceps looking curling devices and instead opt for a curved brush to achieve flirty lashes. And I have to say this formulation was impressive. After a couple of coats my lashes looked lifted, long, and a little curled. But what I really love is that I can customise the way I use the mascara wand (control freak much?) If I don’t really need or want curl, I can use it as a straight brush, and I can adapt the curve to the shape of my eyelid. Very clever. MAC Instacurl Lash mascara even works well applied over the top of another mascara to add a little more curl.
