I have extremely sparse eyebrows. Unfortunately it’s a hypothyroid thing and not a result of over-plucking, but regardless, it does make me a bit insecure. I had them cosmetically tattooed once, but as I lost more hair I felt even self conscious about the tattoo being visible, so I now use makeup instead to fill the gaps and frame my eyes.
Luckily I have found something that is just what my bare brows need. Osmosis Colour Brow Gel, $55 is a perfect option for me as it is water-resistant, so it stays on during hot sweaty days or swimming. It comes in three shades, brown, taupe and a stunning auburn shade which can be hard to find in an eyebrow product. The formula is emollient beeswax, so it not only deposits colour, but can also help to tame and style straggly hairs into position. And because it’s smudge-proof I find it doesn’t shift when I top up my sunblock during the day or if I rub my face.
I apply it using a stiff bristled brush, but you could also clean off an old mascara wand and use that to groom the brows. One thing to be aware of is that you do need to close the cap tightly after each use as it can dry out and won’t work anywhere near as well.
