I’m kind of obsessed with hunting down products that are a) cheap as chips and b) super effective, so when I heard a cult skin care product had made an appearance on New Zealand shelves I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
I have used it on my skin which was dry and sensitised following an edermastamp facial and I needed something with natural ingredients that would be gentle, protective and healing. This balm feels super rich and goes on evenly – it feels greasy for a while, but surprisingly doesn’t look shiny so I was quite comfortable wearing it during the day, but beware it could make your makeup slip. I found it a nice base for powder mineral foundation – giving it a dewy finish and you can always powder off the excess.
So what do I think?
Well, my skin feels soft – as a baby’s bottom in fact. That’s one tick.
It hasn’t made my skin breakout. That’s another tick.
It is soothing and moisturising – great on dry patches. A final tick.
But it’s a moisturiser – and a basic one – not a miracle worker. If you suffer from dry, tight skin and want a good barrier cream this will do the trick, but I would suggest you should still be using a comprehensive antioxidant and anti-ageing serum (if you’re of age) underneath. And of course top it all off with block. But at $10 a tub it’s worth giving it a good go. I’m enjoying slapping it on and massaging it in willy nilly.
