Five products that I am absolutely loving right now…
Weleda Wild Rose Body Oil, $39.90 (100ml)
I don’t think I have ever met a Weleda product I didn’t love and I use their Birch Body Oil religiously when the weather warms up in an attempt to smooth lumps and bumps on my thighs. However, the Weleda Wild Rose Body Oil is a product I had not tried before and have become seriously addicted to. In addition to a luxurious blend of almond and jojoba oils to leave the skin oh-so-soft it is has a divine musk rose oil scent. So sophisticated. It is an absolute pleasure as part of an evening ritual and keeps my decolletage feeling pampered and smooth.
Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie, $35.
I do love a lip gloss and more so when the formulation is a pleasant taste and texture and not laden with chemicals. This is a gorgeous lip gloss… High-shine and super hydrating with a nourishing blend of shea, avocado, and murumuru butters. What’s more, it is formulated without: Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs and Triclosan. I tried the Dare Devil shade which is very glam and can be worn as a thick layer for a dramatic finish or with just a dab smeared on the lips for a more natural touch. The packaging is lovely, with an angled sponge applicator allowing you to artfully apply the colour. You can purchase this at www.meccacosmetica.co.nz
Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes, $68
I was a bit scared of this at first because I am so used to powder shadows and the colour pigment is intense. But what I have come to appreciate is that with a bit of practice, these unique liquid to powder eye colours dry quickly and last all day with no budging whatsoever. The applicator tip acts as a brush and works to reach every corner of the eyelid. After a few plays I realised that these are great. They can be smoothed all over the lid, or painted on close to the lashes for added definition. I use mine like a little paintbrush, smoothing it wear I need it, then ‘painting’ it and lastly, quickly blending the edges with a fingertip. Use as a base or as a complete look, but rest assured, these do not budge. Lovely for evenings or to last through a special day-long event. Oh and the long, silver wand packaging is slicker than slick.

As with all Mor products the packaging is simly heavenly, the box is decorated with a floral pattern, inspired by a classical beautiful English Rose Garden with a touch of Victoriana, and gold foiled for a luxurious touch on textured linen paper. The glass French Crafted bottle has an applied gold decal and is finished off with a gold cap to match. As for the scent, it’s described as ‘sugar dipped rose petals infused with pink musk and cotton candy’… It’s sweet, very sweet, so not to everyone’s taste, but whenever I wear it I just can’t help but get enchanted by it throughout the day. Lasts like a true EDP should.
Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick, $49.
I had always thought of Clarins as a skin care brand, but each time I am sent their products to review I realise just how sensational their cosmetics are. I cannot wait to tell you about their new foundation and concealer because they might just be the best I have ever tried! Anyway, they are not out for a wee while, so I won’t tease you too much. I’ve yet to try a single cosmetic by Clarins that has not floored me with its exquisite packaging and quality. These new lipsticks are really divine to wear, delivering intense comfort due to a combination of 100% plant waxes – mimosa, jojoba and sunflower – and unsaponifiables of cocoa. The products also provide anti-ageing actions to reinforces the skin’s protective barrier, protect against dehydration, boost collagen synthesis and fight the appearance of fine lines. They are nourishing and creamy and make my lips feel soft and pampered. And with 15 shades, there is a colour to suit everyone.
