I first spotted Samantha Snow’s gorgeous hair styling and colour work on Facebook and after trawling through her Facebook fan page was literally blown away by the calibre of her cuts and colours. Her work is truly beautiful – overwhelmingly so, because every time I see a post I decide I need to go butter blonde, then chocolate, then copper red again. But if there’s one thing for sure, if you need someone to revitalise your locks, this is the girl to do it. I decided I had to introduce you all to her.
How long have you been a hair stylist and colourist?
I have been a hairdresser for over seven years, and for the first four years all I did was colour, colour, colour!! But all this extra time at the colour table paid off. I was then sent to a training school over in Paris, it was then my love for colour was really found. Everything over there is so effortless and elegant. I love that in my salon, I do everything from the consultation to the application and then the cut and blow wave on top of that makes this my favourite part! Not many salons out there are doing it this way anymore, having one person from start to finish. It sounds greedy but I am a bit of a perfectionist and I like to control the whole process from start to finish.
Your desert island beauty product and why?
Sunscreen! I have ruined too many summers being burnt. Lesson learnt.
What products go in your handbag with you every day?
My special tangle brush to keep my long locks tamed. It’s called the Tangle Teezer and I sell them for $28 each. I also use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream as it’s such a versatile and handy product.
Do you have a favourite skin care range?
Yes, I use La Clinica. It is 100% organic and I love that I am feeding my skin with only natural ingredients. I had really dehydrated skin, until I visited Alice at Daydream Beauty Therapy and she got me onto a routine to rebalance and nourish.
What are the must have hair products that you think every client should have?
Stick to the basics – a good quality dry shampoo, and a moisturiser for your mid lengths to ends. I use Schwarzkopf styling products: Osis Refreshing Dust is my favourite dry shampoo and BC Rescue Repair Sealed Ends is the best hair moisturiser for me.
