In my limited experience with the brand I have been quite taken with Nars products, so was chuffed to receive a couple of the new satin lip pencils to review and what a pleasure it was to try these on for size.
The texture is sensational – satin by name and satin by nature – they glide effortlessly on the lips, delivering intense, pigment-rich colour in a smooth finish that is nourishing on the lips. Great for winter when our lips tend to feel a little dry and chapped.
The pencil shape makes it a breeze to outline the lip shape and then simply rub the lips together or fill it in with the pencil, depending on your preference. The collection features 12 shades from light apricot to shocking pink and rich, sumptuous reds. Golshan is a delicious spiced wine shade that makes me think of warm nights by a roaring fire.
The formula is promoted as long wearing, but while it does stain the lips, it could shift around a little and it is not kiss-proof, so go easy temptresses or your man will be wearing this for a few hours himself. The formula is enriched with pomegranate fruit extracts, a complex of phospholipids (I don’t know what that is, but hellloooo it sounds impressibve yes?!), yeast extract, collagen prepeptides, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E, which are all put in to moisturise and condition the lips.
Overall, two thumbs up from me. I have been fooling around with glosses for a while, but these grown up finishes are just what a gal needs for a new season and a glamorous look. And what’s not to love about the cute little crayon style packaging? A fun way to feel grown up while reminiscing your childhood. $51 each and available from http://www.meccacosmetica.co.nz/
